CPI Training
Nonviolent Crisis Intervention® is a program developed by the Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI). With a core philosophy of providing for the care, welfare, safety, and security of everyone involved in a crisis situation, the program's proven strategies give service providers and educators the skills to safely and effectively respond to anxious, hostile, or violent behavior while balancing the responsibilities of care.
This course strives to help understand individuals, prevent escalation, and know what to do if a crisis is unavoidable.

Looking at Autism Differently Course
Join us for our first virtual Looking at Autism Differently online course! Participants will access videos and short activities via Google Classroom prior to participating in two live virtual sessions:
Session 1: March 10, 2021 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM
Session 2: March 31, 2021 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM
This is a free course. SCECHs and Social Work CEs available pending approval.
This course will provide participants with an overview of Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), helping attendees to understand and use the characteristics of ASD to the student’s advantage. The content will focus on a new way of thinking about behaviors associated with ASD, while introducing participants to the interventions and universal supports that increase social and academic engagement and independence for students with ASD.
Crisis Response & Debriefing Skills
This training combines Crisis Response and Debriefing Skills in a one-day session. A Crisis Response Team takes a leadership role in a school district when a crisis occurs on or off your school campus.
This training includes:
An overview of the What, Why, When and How of crisis response
Crisis team roles and responsibilities
Handling a crisis
Typical school day response
The debriefing portion of the training includes:
An explanation of the debriefing process
Viewing and participating in a debriefing role play
At the end of the training, a district will have the tools to implement a consistent and coordinated crisis response and participants will be able to debrief students and staff in a school-setting.
